The Ajni Clock Tower is more than just a time-telling device; it's a symbol of Nagpur's identity. In 2003, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) initiated the clock tower project to commemorate the city's tercentenary. However, the project faced delays and was only completed in May 2011. After being non-functional for several years, the clock was repaired in July 2022 and has been ticking since then. The tower is particularly enchanting in the evening when it is lit up, creating a captivating atmosphere.
