Satkosia Gorge: Odisha's Natural Wonder

Satkosia Gorge, a magnificent natural formation in Odisha, India, is carved by the Mahanadi River as it cuts through the Eastern Ghats. The name 'Satkosia' comes from the Odia words 'sat' (seven) and 'kos' (two miles), referring to the gorge's 14-mile (22 km) length. Established as a wildlife sanctuary in 1976, and later declared a tiger reserve in 2007, Satkosia spans across the Angul, Cuttack, Nayagarh, and Boudh districts, covering approximately 963.87 square kilometers.
