Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Coimbatore, take NH181 towards Mettupalayam. Continue on this road for approximately 35 km. After reaching Mettupalayam, follow the signs to Coonoor and Ooty. After about 25 km, you will reach Coonoor. From Coonoor, continue on the road towards Ooty for another 18 km, and you will find signs directing you to Kodanad View Point. The view point is located approximately 8 km from Ooty, turning left onto the road leading to Gandhi Nagar. The last stretch is a narrow road, so drive carefully. Parking is available at the viewpoint.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Kodanad View Point via public transport from Coimbatore, first take a bus to Ooty from the Coimbatore Central Bus Stand. Buses run frequently and the journey takes about 3-4 hours. Upon arriving in Ooty, you can either hire a taxi or take a local bus to Kodanad View Point. Taxis are available outside the bus station, and the fare to Kodanad is around ₹600-₹800. If you prefer the bus, check the local schedules as they may vary, but the fare is usually around ₹30-₹50.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a direct route without the hassle of public transportation schedules, consider booking a taxi from Coimbatore directly to Kodanad View Point. The distance is approximately 80 km and the journey will take about 2-3 hours depending on traffic. Taxi fares range from ₹1,500 to ₹2,500.
