Walking
If starting from MG Marg in Gangtok, head east towards Paljor Stadium. From there, take the road leading to Himalayan Zoological Park. Follow the road as it ascends and curves towards the park entrance. Continue until the junction with the road to Bulbullay Falls, approximately 3 kilometers away. Look for signs indicating the direction and follow the trail. The walk should take about 45 minutes.
Public Transport
Take a shared taxi or public bus from MG Marg towards Kachubari. Inform the driver you wish to get off near the Bulbullay Falls trailhead. The ride takes about 20-30 minutes. From the drop-off point, walk approximately 15-20 minutes along the trail to reach the falls. Shared taxi fares within Gangtok typically range from ₹20 to ₹50 per person.
Taxi
Taxis can be hired from various points in Gangtok, including MG Marg and the Deorali taxi stand. A full-day sightseeing taxi covering multiple points, including Bulbullay Falls, ranges from ₹2,500 to ₹4,500 for a small car. A short trip to the falls alone might cost between ₹500 and ₹800, but negotiating the fare is possible. Booking in advance is recommended, especially during peak season.
