Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the MG Marg area of Gangtok, start by heading east towards the Gangtok Police Station. From there, take a right onto National Highway 10. Continue walking along the highway until you reach the junction at the Upper Sichey area. Here, follow the signs that direct you toward Jawaharlal Nehru Road. After approximately 2 kilometers, you will see the entrance to the Sikkim Himalayan Zoological Park on your left side. The total walking distance is around 3 kilometers and should take approximately 40-50 minutes.

  • Local Transport (Shared Taxi)

    From MG Marg, you can catch a shared taxi that goes towards Deorali. Look for taxis with signs indicating 'Deorali' or 'Sungava.' The fare is usually between 20-30 INR. Once you reach Deorali, you can switch to another taxi that goes to the Zoological Park. The second leg of the journey will take about 15 minutes, and the taxi will drop you off right outside the Sikkim Himalayan Zoological Park entrance.

    Locate the nearest bus stop from MG Marg and take a local bus that heads towards Deorali. From Deorali, you will need to get off and walk to the nearest taxi stand to catch a taxi heading to the Zoological Park. The bus fare is typically around 10-15 INR.
