Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the main market area of Gangtok (MG Marg), start by heading towards the east on MG Marg. After walking for about 500 meters, you will reach the junction at the Assembly Hall. From here, take the right onto Nam Nang Road. Continue walking straight for about 1 kilometer, and you will find a steep uphill path on your left leading to Do Drul Chorten. Follow this path, which may have some steps, until you reach the stupa.

  • Local Bus

    From MG Marg, walk to the nearest local bus stop, which is located at the end of MG Marg near the taxi stand. Take a local bus heading towards Tadong. Inform the conductor that you want to get off at Do Drul Chorten. The bus ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Once you get off, follow the signs to Do Drul Chorten, which is a short walk uphill.

    For the adventurous, you can trek from the nearby hilltops. Starting from the Ganesh Tok viewpoint, take the trail that leads down towards the city.
