Driving
From Margao, head south on the Margao-Quepem Road towards Chandor. Follow the road leading to Gudi, Sao Jose De Areal. The Buddha Statue is approximately 9 km from Margao, a 20-minute drive. Be prepared for a rough, off-road stretch for the last 2.5-3 km. Parking is available at designated spots along the way. Taxi services are available from Margao, with fares around ₹367 for a 10 km ride. Expect to pay ₹100-250 for parking.
Public Transport
Take a local bus from Margao to Chandor. From Chandor, you may need to hire a local taxi or auto-rickshaw to reach the base of the hill leading to the Buddha Statue. Bus fares range from ₹10-₹50 depending on the distance. Auto-rickshaws typically charge ₹50 onwards. From the base, it's a trek to the statue.
Walking
From Chandor, if you're near the Gudi, Sao Jose De Areal area, you can walk towards the Nagesh Love Forest, where the Buddha Statue is located. Be prepared for a walk of several kilometers, with the final ascent being a steep climb. Ensure you have adequate water and sun protection. There are no costs involved if you walk the entire distance, apart from the entry fee to the statue area.
