    Discover more about Harvalem Waterfalls

Nestled in North Goa, Harvalem Waterfalls presents a serene escape from the region's bustling beaches. The waterfall, also known as Arvalem, plunges 50 meters down a rocky cliff, creating a misty veil and a refreshing pool at its base. The falls are surrounded by lush greenery, providing a tranquil atmosphere for relaxation and nature appreciation. Historically, the area is significant, with the ancient Rudreshwar Temple located nearby. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple adds a spiritual dimension to the site, especially during Mahashivaratri when devotees gather. The Harvalem Caves, dating back to the 6th century, are also within walking distance. These rock-cut caves are believed to have been used by Buddhist monks for meditation and possibly served as a refuge for the Pandavas from the Mahabharata. The best time to visit Harvalem Waterfalls is during the monsoon season (June to September) when the water flow is at its peak. The waterfall transforms into a gushing torrent, surrounded by vibrant greenery. While the falls reduce to a trickle during the drier months, the serene lake at the base remains a popular spot for swimming. A park maintained by the government offers a peaceful vantage point for viewing the falls.
