The Pandava Caves, also known as Arvalem Caves, are ancient rock-cut caves dating back to the 6th century, located in North Goa. Legend says the Pandava brothers of the Mahabharata sought refuge here during their exile. The caves feature a blend of Buddhist and Hindu influences, with five compartments and Shiva lingas.

From Panaji or Mapusa, take a local bus towards Sanquelim. From the Sanquelim bus stand, hire a taxi or auto-rickshaw to the Pandava Caves, approximately 2 km away. Bus fares range from ₹20-₹50. Auto-rickshaw fares from Sanquelim to the caves typically cost ₹100-₹150.
Taxi/Auto-rickshaw
Hire a taxi or auto-rickshaw directly from major towns like Panaji or Margao. The journey from Panaji takes about 45 minutes, while from Margao, it takes around 20 minutes. Expect to pay ₹300-₹500 for a taxi from Panaji and ₹200-₹400 from Margao. Negotiate the fare beforehand.
Walking
If you arrive at Harvale bus stop, the Pandava Caves are within walking distance. Ask locals for directions. The walk is roughly 2 km.
