The road goes via the Tandi bridge which is about 14 km from Keylong. From Tandi, it is another 7-8 Kms to Kardang. Taxis from Keylong to Kardang Monastery typically cost around INR 800-1200.

For a more adventurous approach, you can trek to Kardang Monastery from Keylong. Start by finding the local hospital in Keylong and take the trail by the side of it. The trail descends towards the Bhaga River. The trek involves crossing a small bridge over the Bhaga River. The trek is well-marked and takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Be prepared for a steep ascent. There is no cost associated with trekking.
