Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the nearest major city, Kottayam. From Kottayam, take the NH183 towards Erattupetta. After approximately 21 km, take a left turn onto Marmala Road. Continue on Marmala Road for about 9 km until you reach the Marmala Waterfalls. There is limited parking available near the waterfall site, so plan to arrive early to secure a spot.
Public Transportation
To reach Marmala Waterfalls by public transport, take a bus from Kottayam to Erattupetta. Buses are frequent and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Erattupetta, hire a local taxi or auto-rickshaw to take you to Marmala Waterfalls, which is about 10 km away. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand; it typically costs around ₹200-₹300.
Walking
After reaching Marmala Waterfalls by car or taxi, be prepared for a short hike to the waterfall itself. The trail is approximately 1 km from the parking area and may involve some steep climbs, so wear comfortable shoes and carry water.
