I booked Kaushik Sir’s flower market tour expecting a quick look at a famous landmark, but I walked away with a much deeper experience. The vibrant flower market was absolutely fascinating but the real value was learning about the people behind it. We talked about the vendors' lives, migration, the river economy and how the Hooghly river acts as the city's lifeline. It never felt like a standard, tick box sightseeing tour,it was a genuine effort to understand Kolkata from several different angles. As a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe and comfortable throughout. Kaushik Sir is punctual, patient, incredibly knowledgeable and a brilliant storyteller. I definitely left with a way richer understanding of the city than I had ever expected from a morning walk.
