Private Guided Santiniketan Day Tour from Kolkata (Calcutta)

Santiniketan and a sleepy car ride

This is a lovely trip and a very long day. It worked well for me on my first day in Kolkata as I adjusted to exhaustion and the time difference. It involves a very long car ride alongside rice paddies and small towns (I saw a monkey), with lovely music, a driver and a guide. When you get to Santiniketan, there is a local guide awaiting you. You can walk the outside of the campus, see old buildings and trees and go into a museum. My guide worked hard to ensure my day was exactly what I wanted.

Discover Kolkata: Half-Day Private Custom Tour with a Local Guide

Exceptional introduction to Kolkata

This half-day tour was one of the highlights of my visit to Kolkata. The itinerary was thoughtfully planned and covered many of the city's most fascinating locations, including the vibrant flower market, the iconic Howrah Bridge, Kumartuli, College Street and Mother House. It offered the perfect balance of culture, history, local life, and authentic experiences. What truly made the tour special was the local companion, who was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing the spirit of Kolkata. Rather than feeling like a typical sightseeing tour, it felt like exploring the city with a knowledgeable local friend. The insights, stories, and recommendations added tremendous value throughout the experience. The vehicle was comfortable, the pace was relaxed, and everything was organized professionally from start to finish. This tour is ideal for travelers who have limited time but still want to experience the real essence of Kolkata. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Kolkata for the first time. A wonderful and memorable experience!

4-Day Private Golden Triangle Tour: Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur

Fabulous tour made very enjoyable thanks to our driver and tour guides.

The four-day tour of India’s Golden Triangle was a very enjoyable and interesting holiday. Accommodation was in good quality 4-star, hotels. All the tour guides were very knowledgeable, spoke good English and gave detailed commentary. Our vehicle was new, roomy, comfortable, clean every day, with ample water and snacks as needed. Comfort stops were clean and designed to meet our, elderly, westerner needs. A special mention of our excellent driver, Ashok who was particularly attentive to our needs, going above and beyond, as required. Ashok speaks good English and manages the almost impossible Indian traffic perfectly. A humble man who looked after us “as if we were his parents.
