If you are driving from Leh, head north on NH 1D towards Diskit. The drive takes about 4-5 hours. After crossing Diskit Monastery, continue on the road for about 7 km until you reach Hundar. The sand dunes will be on your right. There are signs pointing the way, and you can park your car at designated spots near the dunes.

From Leh, you can take a public bus headed towards Nubra Valley. The bus leaves from the Leh Bus Stand and costs around ₹500. The journey will take approximately 6-7 hours. Ask the driver to drop you off at Hundar. Once you arrive in Hundar, the sand dunes are a short walk (about 1 km) from the bus stop. Follow the main road until you see the dunes.

You can also opt for a shared taxi from Leh to Hundar. Shared taxis leave from the Leh taxi stand and cost around ₹600-₹800 per person. The journey takes about 5 hours. Request the driver to stop at Hundar village, and you can walk to the sand dunes from there, which is about a 1 km walk. It’s advisable to confirm the route with the driver.
