Car
From Leh, take the Leh-Nubra Road (NH 1) towards Diskit. The journey is approximately 120 km and takes around 4-5 hours. You will pass Khardung La, one of the highest motorable roads in the world, which is about 39 km from Leh. Ensure your vehicle is well-fueled and in good condition. After descending from Khardung La, continue towards Diskit, and then take a left towards Nubra Village. Follow the signs, and you will reach Nubra Village (JF64+J73, Partapur) after a short drive.
Public Transportation
From Leh, you can catch a shared taxi or bus heading to Nubra Valley. The buses depart from the Leh bus stand, and you may need to book in advance during peak seasons. The fare is approximately INR 500-700. The journey takes about 5-6 hours, and you will be dropped off in Diskit. From Diskit, hire a local taxi or auto-rickshaw to reach Nubra Village, which is about 10 km away. The taxi fare should be around INR 300-400.
Bike Rental
For adventurous travelers, renting a bike in Leh is a great option. Many rental shops are available in Leh, and a daily rental costs between INR 800-1500, depending on the bike type. Start your ride on the Leh-Nubra Road, and follow the same route as cars, passing through Khardung La. Ensure you have a valid driving license and wear a helmet. This trip provides a unique experience of the scenic beauty of Ladakh.
