    If you're driving from Leh, take the Leh-Manali Highway (NH 3) towards the direction of Shey. After about 15 km, you will see a sign for Thiksey Monastery. Turn right off the highway and follow the road for about 3 km, which will lead you directly to the monastery entrance. There is parking available near the entrance.

    From Leh, you can catch a local bus heading towards Karu. Buses leave from the Leh bus stand frequently. Inform the conductor you are going to Thiksey Monastery; they will let you know when to get off. The journey takes about 30 minutes. The bus will drop you off at the main road, from where it's a short 1 km walk to the monastery entrance. Follow the signs and the path leading uphill to reach the monastery.
