Car
If you are starting from Leh, head southeast on the Leh-Srinagar Highway (NH1D) towards the Zangsti Hemis Complex. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes, covering a distance of around 15 km. Look for the signs directing you towards the Hemis Monastery. Once you arrive at the Zangsti Hemis Complex, you will find the trekking starting point nearby.
Public Bus
From Leh's main bus station, take a local bus heading towards Hemis Monastery. Buses run regularly throughout the day, and the fare is approximately INR 50. The trip takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour. Get off at the Hemis Monastery stop and walk towards the Zangsti Hemis Complex, which is about a 10-minute walk.
Taxi
You can hire a taxi from Leh to the Zangsti Hemis Complex. It is advisable to negotiate the fare beforehand. The cost for a one-way trip ranges from INR 500 to INR 800, depending on the vehicle and the driver. The drive takes around 30 minutes, and taxis can be found at various stands in Leh.
Bike Rental
If you're feeling adventurous, consider renting a bike in Leh. Many rental shops offer bikes for around INR 800 to INR 1,200 per day. Follow the same route as if you were driving a car, taking the Leh-Srinagar Highway (NH1D) towards the Zangsti Hemis Complex. Ensure you wear a helmet and drive carefully, as the roads can be challenging.
