Getting There

  • Walking

    Start at the main market area in Leh (also known as Leh Main Bazaar). From here, head towards the Leh Palace which is a well-known landmark. Once at the Leh Palace, continue walking towards the Chamba Temple, which is located nearby. From Chamba Temple, take the road leading to the direction of the Likir Gompa. Continue walking along this road, following the signs for Likir. The total walking distance is approximately 50 kilometers, so it is advisable to take breaks. You can also stop at local tea stalls along the way to rest and recharge.

    At Leh Main Bazaar, find the local bus station where you can catch a bus heading towards Likir. Buses operate regularly, but make sure to check the schedule.
