From Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CST), take the local train towards Karjat or Khopoli on the Central Line. Get off at Neral station. The train journey takes approximately 1 hour.

Taxi or Auto-rickshaw
Upon arriving at Neral station, exit the station and find an auto-rickshaw or taxi stand. Request to go to Matheran, which is about 6 km away. The fare should be around ₹100-₹150. The ride will take around 15-20 minutes.

Horse Ride or Walk
Once you reach Matheran, you must leave the vehicle, as Matheran is a vehicle-free hill station. You can either hire a horse for a ride (which is a popular option) or start walking towards Charlotte Lake, which is approximately 2 km away from the main market area of Matheran. Follow the signs towards Charlotte Lake.

If you prefer hiking, take the trail from the market area towards Charlotte Lake. The hike is scenic and takes about 30-40 minutes. Ensure you have comfortable walking shoes and carry water.
