Getting There

• Walking

  If you're starting from the popular area of Promenade Beach, head east along the promenade until you reach the intersection with Rue de l'Université. Turn left onto Rue de l'Université and continue straight until you reach the junction with Rue de la Bourdonnais. At the junction, turn right onto Rue de la Bourdonnais and walk straight until you reach the intersection with Rue Saint-Louis. From here, you can take a right onto Rue Saint-Louis and continue walking until you reach the intersection with the ECR (East Coast Road). Cross the road and continue straight until you arrive at Vaithikuppam, where Pondy Sunrise Beach is located.

• Bicycle

  You can rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Pondicherry. Start from Aurobindo Ashram and head towards the ECR. Follow the ECR heading south until you reach the sign for Vaithikuppam. Turn left and continue along the road until you see signs directing you to Pondy Sunrise Beach. The ride should take about 20-30 minutes depending on your pace.

• Auto-rickshaw

  Find an auto-rickshaw near your location. Tell the driver you want to go to Pondy Sunrise Beach in Vaithikuppam. They should know the location as it's a popular spot. The drive will take around 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your ride.

• Public Transport

  Look for a local bus that goes towards Vaithikuppam. Buses often depart from the main bus stand in Pondicherry. Ask the conductor to drop you off at the nearest stop to Pondy Sunrise Beach. Once you get off, you might need to walk a short distance to reach the beach. Make sure to check the bus schedule for accurate timings.
