From Shillong, you can take a shared taxi to Sohra (Cherrapunjee) from the Police Bazaar taxi stand. The fare is around ₹100-150 per person. Once in Sohra, you will need to take another shared taxi to the village of Tyrna, which is the starting point for the trek to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge. The fare from Sohra to Tyrna is approximately ₹50-70. From Tyrna, begin your trek down the steep path that leads to the bridge. The trek is approximately 3 km and will take around 45 minutes to 1 hour. Be prepared for a steep descent and ensure you wear comfortable trekking shoes.
