From Shillong, you can take a shared taxi to Sohra (Cherrapunjee) from the Police Bazaar taxi stand. The fare is around ₹100-150 per person. Once in Sohra, you will need to take another shared taxi to the village of Tyrna, which is the starting point for the trek to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge. The fare from Sohra to Tyrna is approximately ₹50-70. From Tyrna, begin your trek down the steep path that leads to the bridge. The trek is approximately 3 km and will take around 45 minutes to 1 hour. Be prepared for a steep descent and ensure you wear comfortable trekking shoes.

After reaching Tyrna village, follow the well-marked trail to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge. The trail is surrounded by beautiful landscapes and takes you through the local villages. Take your time and enjoy the stunning views. The bridge is located about 3 km from the start of the trek, and you will encounter several steps along the way. Make sure to carry water and snacks, as there are no shops once you start the hike.
