Getting There

Walking
Start at Police Bazar, a central hub in Shillong. From Police Bazar, head east on GS Road towards the junction where it meets with the Mawshbuit-Sweet Falls Road. This is approximately a 15-minute walk. Once you reach the junction, take a left onto Mawshbuit-Sweet Falls Road. Continue walking straight for about 4 kilometers. You will pass several local shops and a few small eateries along the way. Keep an eye out for directional signs pointing towards Mawlynrei Falls. After about an hour of walking, you will start to hear the sounds of the falls. The falls are located near the end of the Mawshbuit-Sweet Falls Road, where you will find a small entrance leading to the falls.

From Police Bazar, take a shared taxi (commonly known as a 'sumo') heading towards Mawphlang. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Mawshbuit-Sweet Falls Road. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you get off at the junction of Mawshbuit-Sweet Falls Road, you will need to walk about 4 kilometers straight down the road. Follow the same walking directions given above from this point. Ensure to ask locals if you need further assistance in finding the entrance to the falls.
