If you are in Shillong city center, start at Police Bazaar, which is a well-known area. From Police Bazaar, walk towards the main road (GS Road) and head towards the U Soso Tham auditorium. Continue straight until you reach the junction near the State Central Library. Take a left turn onto the Shillong-Nongstoin Road (NH6). Keep walking straight for about 6 kilometers until you reach the Mawphlang Sacred Forest sign. The entrance is on your right.

From Police Bazaar, head to the bus stop located near the main market area. Look for buses headed towards Mawphlang or Shillong-Nongstoin route. Board the bus and inform the conductor that you are going to Mawphlang Sacred Forest. The bus ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Get off at the Mawphlang stop and walk towards the forest entrance, which is a short distance ahead, on your right.
