Walking
From the center of Upper Shillong, head towards the Mawlai Nongkwar area. You can start by walking along the main road, known as the Shillong-Mawlai Road. Continue walking straight, passing by local shops and eateries. After about 1 km, you will reach a fork in the road. Take the left path that leads towards Mawlai Nongkwar. Walk for another 500 meters, and you will see a sign indicating Beadon Bishop View Point. Follow the dirt trail that leads uphill for about 200 meters, and you will arrive at the viewpoint. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the path can be uneven.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Upper Shillong. Once you have a bicycle, head towards Mawlai Nongkwar by following the same route as pedestrians. The cycling distance is approximately 1.5 km to the viewpoint. Take the left path at the fork in the road and then follow the dirt trail uphill to reach Beadon Bishop View Point. Ensure to wear a helmet for safety, and be cautious of traffic on the main road.
Public Transport
Although public transport options are limited, you can catch a local shared taxi or auto-rickshaw from Upper Shillong to Mawlai Nongkwar. Look for shared taxis at the main stand; they are often indicated by signs. The fare is usually around INR 20-30 per person. Once you reach Mawlai Nongkwar, you will need to walk about 1 km to the viewpoint. After alighting, ask locals for directions to Beadon Bishop View Point, as they are familiar with the area. Follow the main road until you reach the fork, take the left, and walk up the dirt trail for about 200 meters.
