Car
If you are driving, start from Udaipur, which is about 85 km from Kumbhalgarh Fort. Take NH62 towards Kumbhalgarh. After approximately 60 km, you will reach the town of Kumbhalgarh. Follow the signs directing you to Kumbhalgarh Fort. The road is well-marked, and you should reach the fort entrance in about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic. There may be a parking fee of around ₹50 to ₹100 at the entrance.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus from Udaipur to Kumbhalgarh. Buses depart frequently from Udaipur's bus stand, and the journey takes about 2 to 3 hours. Make sure to check the schedule beforehand as timings may vary. Once you arrive in Kumbhalgarh, you can take an auto-rickshaw or a local taxi to reach Kumbhalgarh Fort, which is about 10 km from the bus stop. Expect to pay around ₹100 to ₹150 for the auto-rickshaw ride.
Shared Taxi or Ride-Sharing
For a more comfortable option, consider hiring a shared taxi from Udaipur to Kumbhalgarh. This can be arranged at the taxi stands or through ride-sharing apps available in the area. The cost per person typically ranges from ₹300 to ₹500 depending on the number of passengers. The journey will take about 2 hours, and you will be dropped off at the fort entrance.
