From anywhere in Gary, head to the nearest bus stop and catch the Gary Public Transportation Corporation (GPTC) bus heading towards Chicago. You can take the Route 10, which connects Gary to the Chicago area. When you board the bus, pay attention to the stops and disembark at the South Shore Line train station in Gary. Once there, purchase a ticket for the South Shore Line train to Chicago Millennium Station. The train ride takes about an hour.
