Walking
If you are starting from downtown Gary, head east on 5th Avenue toward Broadway. Continue on 5th Avenue until you reach the intersection with Colfax Street. Turn right onto Colfax Street and continue walking for about 1.5 miles. The Ivanhoe South Nature Preserve will be on your left at 750 Colfax St. Look for the entrance sign to the preserve.

Public Transit (Bus)
From the Gary Public Transportation Corporation (GPTC) Bus Terminal, take Bus 10 (West 5th Avenue) heading east. Get off at the stop on Colfax Street. From there, walk north on Colfax Street for about 0.5 miles until you reach the Ivanhoe South Nature Preserve at 750 Colfax St.

If you have access to a bicycle, start from the Gary City Hall. Head south on Broadway Street and then turn left onto 5th Avenue. Continue on 5th Avenue, which will merge into Colfax Street. Keep biking for approximately 1.5 miles until you reach the preserve entrance on your left at 750 Colfax St.
