Getting There

• Public Transit

  If you're starting from downtown Indianapolis, you can take the IndyGo bus service. Board the Route 8 bus towards the 38th Street and Post Road. Get off at the stop near the intersection of Meridian Street and Washington Street. From there, walk south on Meridian Street until you reach the Central Canal, which is located at approximately 39.7674579 latitude and -86.1704647 longitude. The walk should take about 10-15 minutes.

• Biking

  You can rent a bike from one of the many bike-sharing stations around downtown Indianapolis. Start at a bike station near your location and bike towards the Central Canal. Follow the bike lanes along the White River Parkway or use the dedicated bike path that runs alongside the canal. This scenic route will take you directly to Central Canal, where you can enjoy the views and possibly stop for a snack or drink at one of the nearby cafes.

• Walking

  If you're already in the downtown area, walking to Central Canal is a great option. Start at Monument Circle and head west on Washington Street. Continue walking until you reach Meridian Street, then turn left (south) on Meridian Street. Follow this road until you reach the canal. The walk is approximately 1 mile, which should take about 20-25 minutes, and you'll pass by a number of shops and restaurants along the way.
