    From downtown Indianapolis, walk to the nearest bus stop on Washington Street. Take the Indianapolis Public Transportation Corporation (IndyGo) Bus number 10 towards East 10th Street. Stay on the bus for approximately 25 minutes. Get off at the stop near the intersection of East 10th Street and North Emerson Avenue. From there, transfer to Bus number 21 heading towards East 34th Street. Ride for about 15 minutes and get off at the stop closest to East University Avenue. Walk southeast on East University Avenue for about 5 minutes until you reach the Irvington Historical Society, Bona Thompson Center at 5350 E University Ave.
