    If you are driving from anywhere in Northwest Indiana, head east on I-94 E towards Chicago. Take exit 51A for I-90 E toward Indiana Toll Rd/Chicago. Continue on I-90 E for about 30 miles. Take exit 50A toward Lake Shore Dr, then merge onto Lake Shore Dr. Continue on Lake Shore Dr for approximately 5 miles until you reach Promontory Point, located at Lakefront Trl, Chicago, IL 60615. There may be parking available along the road, but be mindful of any parking restrictions. Note that tolls may apply on I-90.

  • Public Transportation

    For public transportation, you can take the South Shore Line train from various locations in Northwest Indiana to the Millennium Station in Chicago. Once you arrive at Millennium Station, transfer to the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) 'Red Line' train towards 95th/Dan Ryan. Get off at the 47th station and transfer to the #15 bus (Jeffery Local) towards 75th. Get off at the stop for Lakefront Trl. Walk a short distance to the Promontory Point marker.
