    If you are traveling by car from The Dunes area, start by heading southeast on U.S. Route 12 towards I-94 East. Merge onto I-94 East and continue for approximately 25 miles. Take exit 40B for I-69 North towards Fort Wayne. After about 7 miles, take exit 200B for 38th St. Turn right onto 38th St and continue for 3 miles. Then turn left onto Post Rd. Fort Harrison State Park will be on your right at 6000 N Post Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46216. Please note that parking at the park may incur a small fee, typically around $5.

    If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus from The Dunes area to Indianapolis. Start by taking the South Shore Line train from Michigan City to Millennium Station in Chicago. From there, transfer to the Amtrak train towards Indianapolis. Once in Indianapolis, you can take the IndyGo bus route 8 from the Amtrak station to reach the vicinity of Fort Harrison State Park.
