Car
If you are driving in The Lakes Region, head towards Carmel, Indiana. From the center of Carmel, take Main Street and head west until you reach the intersection with River Road. Turn left onto River Road. Continue on River Road for about 2 miles, and you will see Prather Park on your left at 12575 River Rd, Carmel, IN 46033. There is ample parking available at the park.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, you can take the Hamilton County Express bus service. Check the latest schedule and routes to find a stop near you that connects to the Express service. You will need to get off at the 'Carmel City Center' stop. From there, you can either walk about 1.5 miles north along Range Line Road until you reach River Road, then turn left, or use a rideshare service for convenience. Note that bus fares may apply, so be prepared for a small cost, usually around $2-$3 per ride.
Bicycle
For the adventurous, biking to Prather Park is a great option. If you are in Carmel, you can take the Monon Trail which connects to other bike paths in the area. Follow the Monon Trail south until you reach 126th Street, then head east until you reach River Road. Turn left and follow River Road north for about 1 mile to reach Prather Park. Always wear a helmet and be cautious of traffic, especially on River Road.
Walking
If you are staying nearby in Carmel, walking to Prather Park is a pleasant option. Depending on your starting point, navigate towards River Road. If you are near the Carmel Arts & Design District, head west on Main Street, then turn left onto River Road. Continue walking north for approximately 2 miles, and Prather Park will be on your left. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes!
