    If you're driving from downtown Chesterton, start by heading east on East 5th Street towards South Calumet Road. Turn left onto South Calumet Road and continue for about half a mile. Merge onto US-20 E via the ramp to Michigan City. After approximately 3 miles, take the exit toward IN-49 N. Continue on IN-49 N for about 5 miles, then take the exit for IN-2 E toward Chesterton. Finally, turn left onto North 25 E, and the entrance to Indiana Dunes State Park will be on your left after about 0.5 miles.

    To reach Indiana Dunes State Park using public transportation, first take the South Shore Line train from downtown Chicago to the Chesterton station. Once you arrive at the Chesterton station, you can take a local taxi or rideshare service to the park.     If you're coming from Gary, take I-90 E (Indiana Toll Road) and merge onto I-94 E toward Detroit. After about 15 miles, take exit 19A for IN-49 N. Continue on IN-49 N for about 12 miles, then take the exit for IN-2 E. Turn left onto North 25 E, and the entrance to Indiana Dunes State Park will be on your left after about 0.5 miles.
