If you are traveling by car, start from Malang city. Head southwest on Jl. Jend. Sudirman toward Jl. Mertojoyo. Continue on this road for about 18 kilometers until you reach the town of Sumbermanjing Wetan. From there, follow the signs to Tambakrejo Beach, which is the main access point for Sempu Island. The journey should take approximately 1 hour. Once you reach Tambakrejo Beach, you will need to park your vehicle at the designated parking area (usually costs around IDR 10,000).

To reach Sempu Island via public transportation, take a bus or a minivan from Malang to Sumbermanjing Wetan. Buses frequently leave from the Malang Arjosari Bus Terminal. The fare is typically around IDR 20,000 and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Sumbermanjing Wetan, you will need to take a local ojek (motorcycle taxi) or walk to Tambakrejo Beach, which is about 5 kilometers away. Ojek rides usually cost around IDR 15,000.
