Car Rental
If you're in Labuan Bajo, the nearest major town, you can rent a car from various rental agencies. Drive east on the Trans-Flores Highway (Route 1) for about 2.5 hours (around 100 km) towards Ruteng. You will need to take a left turn onto the road towards Liang Bua when you see signs for the cave. Follow this road until you reach the cave entrance. Make sure to check your fuel levels before the trip, as there are limited gas stations along the route.

Public Transportation - Minibus
From Labuan Bajo, take a minibus (also known as 'angkot') to Ruteng. The journey takes around 3 hours and costs approximately IDR 50,000 to IDR 75,000. Once in Ruteng, transfer to another minibus heading to Liang Bua. This leg of the journey will take about 30 minutes and costs around IDR 20,000. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you off at Liang Bua Cave.

Motorbike Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a motorbike taxi (ojek) from Ruteng to Liang Bua Cave. Negotiate the fare beforehand, which should be around IDR 100,000 to IDR 150,000 for a one-way trip. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes.

Walking
Once you arrive at Liang Bua village, you may need to walk a short distance to the actual cave entrance. Follow the signs or ask locals for directions. The walk is generally safe and should take about 10-15 minutes.
