Getting There

• Public Transportation - Bus

  From the center of Makassar, head to the nearest bus station, such as Terminal Mall Ratu Indah. Look for buses heading toward Maros. You can ask locals for the specific bus number or schedule. Once you board the bus, inform the driver or conductor that you're going to Bantimurung. The bus ride will take around 1 to 1.5 hours. When you reach Bantimurung, disembark at the main stop. From there, you can either take a local ojek (motorcycle taxi) or a short walk to Leang Samungkeng, located about 6 kilometers away. If walking, follow the main road signs toward Dusun Bontolabbu.

• Motorcycle Taxi (Ojek)

  While you are in Makassar, you can use ride-hailing apps like Gojek or Grab. Simply input your destination as 'Leang Samungkeng, Dusun Bontolabbu, Bantimurung, Maros Regency'. The app will guide the driver to pick you up and take you directly to Leang Samungkeng. This is a convenient option if you prefer a door-to-door service. Make sure to check the fare before confirming your ride.

• Walking

  If you are already in the Bantimurung area and want to walk to Leang Samungkeng, you can start from the Bantimurung National Park entrance. Head southeast on the main road, and follow the signs for Dusun Bontolabbu. It’s approximately a 6-kilometer walk and will take about 1.5 hours. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry enough water, as the terrain can be uneven and warm.
