Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, you can access Taman Nasional Bromo Tengger-Semeru via the main road. From the nearest town, Tosari, head east on Jl. Bromo. Follow the signs towards Bromo, which will lead you to the national park entrance. The drive takes about 30 minutes from Tosari to the entrance. Be aware that the road can be narrow and winding, so drive carefully. There may be parking fees at the entrance, typically around IDR 10,000 to IDR 20,000.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Taman Nasional Bromo Tengger-Semeru using public transportation, take a local bus or minivan from Malang or Probolinggo to Tosari. The bus from Probolinggo to Tosari takes approximately 1.5 hours and costs around IDR 30,000. Once in Tosari, you can hire a local ojeg (motorcycle taxi) or take a minivan to the park entrance, which is about a 30-minute ride and costs around IDR 20,000 to IDR 30,000.

• Tour Package

  For a more convenient option, consider booking a tour package that includes transportation from your hotel in Malang or Surabaya to Taman Nasional Bromo Tengger-Semeru. These packages often include a guide, entrance fees, and sometimes meals. Prices can vary significantly, starting from IDR 500,000 per person, so it’s advisable to compare options.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous traveler, consider renting a bicycle in Tosari to reach the park. This option offers a unique way to experience the stunning landscapes. The ride to the park entrance takes approximately 1 hour, and you need to be prepared for a steep ascent. Bicycle rentals typically cost around IDR 50,000 per day.
