Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the capital of West Nusa Tenggara, Mataram. Head east on the main road (Jalan Raya) towards Labuan Lombok. After about 50 km, take the exit onto the road towards Sumbawa. Continue on this road for approximately 80 km until you reach the ferry terminal at Poto Tano. Here, you will take a ferry to Sumba Island. The ferry ride takes about 2 hours, and ticket prices are around IDR 50,000 per person. Once you arrive at Waingapu, drive south on the main road towards Kodi Bangedo. Follow the signs for Panenggo Ede, and after about 60 km, you will reach Mareha Cape.

• Public Transportation

  For those relying on public transportation, start at Mataram's central bus terminal (Terminal Mandalika). Take a bus heading to Labuan Lombok, which takes about 1 hour. From Labuan Lombok, you will need to catch a bus to Poto Tano ferry terminal. After the 2-hour ferry ride to Sumba Island, you will arrive at Waingapu. From Waingapu, use local transportation (bemos or shared taxis) to reach Kodi Bangedo. Inform the driver you want to go to Mareha Cape. The total cost for public transport may vary, but budget around IDR 150,000-200,000 for the entire journey.

  If you prefer a more comfortable option, consider booking a private transfer from Mataram to Mareha Cape. Various tour operators offer this service, which will typically include the ferry crossing. The journey may take around 6-7 hours, depending on traffic and waiting times at the ferry terminal. Prices for private transfers can range from IDR 800,000 to IDR 1,200,000, depending on the vehicle type and whether it includes ferry tickets.
