• Car

  If you're traveling by car, you'll want to start from the city of Waingapu, which is a common entry point for tourists in East Nusa Tenggara. From Waingapu, take the main road heading west towards Kodi. The journey is approximately 2 hours (around 70 kilometers). Follow the signs to Kalena Rongo, and once you reach the area, look for signs indicating the direction to Waikuri Lagoon. The final stretch may involve some unpaved roads, so drive carefully, and ensure your vehicle is suitable for such terrain.

• Public Transportation - Minibus

  To reach Waikuri Lagoon using public transportation, start by taking a minibus (known locally as an 'angkot') from Waingapu to Kodi. The fare typically ranges from IDR 50,000 to IDR 70,000. The ride will take about 3 hours, depending on road conditions and stops. Once you arrive at Kodi, you can hire a local motorcycle taxi (ojek) for a short ride to Kalena Rongo, which should cost around IDR 20,000 to IDR 30,000. Make sure to confirm the price before starting the ride.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous traveler, consider cycling to Waikuri Lagoon. Starting from Waingapu, the route to Kodi is approximately 70 kilometers. This journey will take about 4 to 6 hours, depending on your fitness level and the weather conditions. Ensure you have plenty of water and snacks for the ride. Once you reach Kodi, you can ask locals for directions to Kalena Rongo. Be prepared for some challenging terrain, especially on unpaved sections.
