Car
If you are renting a car, start your journey from Waingapu, the capital of Sumba Timur. Head west on the main road towards Central Sumba. After approximately 2.5 hours of driving (about 90 km), you will reach the town of Tambolaka. Continue driving for another 30 minutes (around 20 km) until you reach the area of Katikutana Selatan. Look for signs directing you to Lapopu Waterfall. There will be a small parking area available for visitors.

Public Transportation
To reach Lapopu Waterfall via public transportation, first, take a bus or minivan from Waingapu to Tambolaka. The journey takes about 2.5 hours. Once in Tambolaka, hire a local ojek (motorcycle taxi) or take a public minivan to Katikutana Selatan. This ride should take approximately 30 minutes. You may also need to negotiate with the ojek driver to take you directly to the waterfall entrance. Expect to pay around 150,000 IDR for the entrance fee to Lapopu Waterfall.
