Car
If you're starting your journey from the city of Mataram, Lombok, drive to the ferry terminal at Lembar, which is approximately a 1.5-hour drive (around 60 km). Once there, purchase a ferry ticket to Sumbawa. The ferry ride usually takes about 1.5 hours. After arriving at Poto Tano on Sumbawa Island, continue driving towards Labuhan Badas, which is about 30 km away (approximately 40 minutes). Once you reach Labuhan Badas, you will need to find a local boat to take you to Mojo Island, as there are no direct public transport options available.
Public Transportation
From Mataram, take a public bus to Lembar (around 30,000 IDR for the bus fare). After reaching the Lembar ferry terminal, buy a ticket for the ferry to Sumbawa (the ticket price is approximately 50,000 IDR). Upon arrival at Poto Tano, you can catch a local minibus to Labuhan Badas for around 20,000 IDR. Once in Labuhan Badas, you will need to negotiate with local boat operators to take you to Mojo Island, as public boats may not run frequently. Expect to pay around 150,000 IDR for the boat ride.
