Board the DART Route 3 bus heading toward the North Side. Stay on the bus until you reach the 6th Ave & University Ave stop. From there, transfer to Route 9, which will take you directly toward the Riverside area. Get off at the Corning Ave & 6th St stop. Walk north on 6th St until you reach Corning Ave, then turn left. Continue walking until you arrive at Riverview Park, located at 710 Corning Ave. The total travel time will depend on the wait times for buses and can take around 30-50 minutes.
Biking
If you're comfortable biking, rent a bike from one of the bike-sharing stations in downtown Des Moines. Start by heading northwest on Grand Ave towards 3rd St. Turn left onto 3rd St and continue until you reach the Des Moines River Trail. Follow the river trail, which offers beautiful scenic views until you pass under the I-80 bridge. When you reach the intersection of the trail and Corning Ave, turn left onto Corning Ave. Continue straight until you arrive at Riverview Park, which will be on your right side at 710 Corning Ave. The bike ride should take around 20-30 minutes depending on your pace.
Walking
If you prefer walking, start from downtown Des Moines. Head north on 3rd St until you reach the intersection with University Ave. Turn left onto University Ave and walk until you reach the intersection with 6th Ave. Cross 6th Ave and continue onto the pedestrian path next to the river. Follow the path along the Des Moines River for approximately 1.5 miles. You will eventually see signs for Riverview Park. Once you reach the intersection with Corning Ave, turn right, and you will find the park at 710 Corning Ave. This walk may take you around 40-50 minutes.
