    If you are in downtown Des Moines, head east on Locust Street. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with East 6th Street. The State Historical Building will be on your left at 600 E Locust St. Look for the large sign and entrance at the front.

  • Public Transit - Bus

    From downtown Des Moines, you can take the DART bus service. Find the nearest bus stop at 8th and Locust, and take bus route 4 or 5 heading east. Get off at the stop near East 6th Street and walk one block north on East 6th Street, then turn left onto Locust Street. The State Historical Building will be on your left at 600 E Locust St.
