Turn left onto East 14th Street and keep walking until you reach the intersection with University Avenue. Turn right onto University Avenue. After a short walk, you will see Union Park on your left. The Historic Rocket Slide is located within the park grounds.

From downtown Des Moines, you can take the DART bus service. Board the bus at the nearest stop heading north on 5th Avenue. You can take Route 5 - Euclid, which will take you towards the intersection of East 14th Street and University Avenue. Get off at the stop near the Fairgrounds. From there, walk east on University Avenue, and after a short distance, you will find Union Park on your left. The Historic Rocket Slide is located within the park.
