If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest major city, Omaha, NE. Take I-80 W from Omaha. After about 40 miles, merge onto I-29 N toward Sioux City. Continue for approximately 25 miles and take exit 47 for US-30 W toward Missouri Valley. After about 10 miles, turn left onto 190th St. Continue for 2 miles and turn right onto Highway 183 S. After 5 miles, you will reach the Horseshoe Lake Wetland Area, located at Modale, IA 51556. Look for the entrance just off the highway.
