If you are starting from downtown Omaha, walk to the nearest bus stop and take the Metro Transit Route 2 bus heading north. The bus will take you through various neighborhoods and eventually towards the northern part of Omaha. Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes until you reach the stop at 30th and Hummel. From there, disembark and walk west along Hummel Rd for about 10 minutes. You will find John Pierre Cabanne's Pioneer Fur-Trading Post located at 2800 Hummel Rd on your right.

For those who prefer biking, start at the Omaha Riverfront Park. Head north along the river until you reach the bridge at 10th St. Cross the bridge and continue north on 10th St. until you reach the intersection with Hummel Rd. Turn left onto Hummel Rd and follow it for approximately 1.5 miles. The Pioneer Fur-Trading Post will be on your left at 2800 Hummel Rd.
