Getting There

• Walking

  To get to the Boston Irish Famine Memorial from the Newton Town Center, start by walking towards the intersection of East 2nd Street and North 4th Avenue. Continue walking northeast until you reach the intersection with East 1st Street. Turn right onto East 1st Street and keep walking until you reach the Newton Public Library. From the library, head east on East 1st Street until you reach the intersection with North 12th Avenue. Turn left onto North 12th Avenue and continue walking straight until you reach the Newton City Hall. From City Hall, head southeast on North 12th Avenue, which will lead you directly to East 4th Street. Turn right onto East 4th Street, then continue straight until you reach the end of the street, where you'll find the bus station. From there, take a bus heading towards Boston for approximately 30 minutes, and you'll arrive in downtown Boston. Once you are in downtown Boston, follow signs towards the Boston Irish Famine Memorial located at Boston, MA 02108.

  From the Newton Town Center, walk to the nearest bus stop located at East 2nd Street. Take a local bus to the nearest train station. Once you arrive at the train station, purchase a ticket for the commuter rail heading towards Boston. After a scenic ride of about 30 minutes, disembark at South Station in Boston. Once you exit South Station, walk towards the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Summer Street. Head north on Atlantic Avenue until you reach the intersection with Purchase Street. Turn left onto Purchase Street and continue walking until you reach the Boston Irish Famine Memorial, which is located at Boston, MA 02108.
