    From the center of Newton, head east on 1st Avenue E towards E 4th Street N. Continue straight until you reach E 4th Street N, then turn left. Walk for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with the US-6. Cross the street and continue walking straight. Follow the road as it curves slightly, and you will eventually reach the Newton Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. From there, you can continue walking southeast towards the downtown area and eventually reach Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park, located at 100 Atlantic Ave, Boston, MA 02110. It is approximately 1.5 miles from the Newton Arboretum, so be prepared for a longer walk.
