Walking

The Pappajohn Sculpture Park is located in downtown Des Moines and is easily accessible on foot. From the Des Moines Public Library, walk west on Locust Street for approximately three blocks. The park will be on your right, between 10th and 13th Streets. The walk is flat and pedestrian-friendly.

The eastern end of the park displays realistic human and animal forms, transitioning to figurative abstract and conceptual minimalist sculptures as you move westward. Signature pieces include the iconic 'Nomade' by Jaume Plensa, a 27-foot-tall human form constructed from a latticework of steel letters, and works by Ugo Rondinone that resemble ancient Easter Island sculptures.
