    From the West Des Moines City Hall, head south on 5th Street and turn left onto Grand Avenue. Continue on Grand Avenue until you reach 50th Street. Turn left on 50th Street and walk until you reach Brown's Woods Drive. Turn right onto Brown's Woods Drive, and the entrance to Brown's Woods will be on your right. The walk is approximately 1.5 miles and should take around 30 minutes.

    From the West Des Moines transit center, take DART Bus Route 52 (50th Street). Get off at the stop closest to 50th Street and Grand Avenue. From there, walk north on 50th Street and turn right onto Brown's Woods Drive. The entrance to Brown's Woods will be ahead. A single ride on DART is $1.75.

  • Driving

    From I-235, take the 50th Street exit south. Continue on 50th Street until you reach Brown's Woods Drive. Turn right onto Brown's Woods Drive. The entrance to Brown's Woods will be on your right. There is a parking lot available at the trailhead. Parking is free.
